Engagement Story

I have been getting SO many requests to share my engagement story and photos. I know I am already married and I need to be sharing my wedding pics but I am a slacker.....

Just kidding, I'm just super busy and I haven't even had time to download them onto my computer. I will be doing that very soon for you guys.

Well, if you can bear the cheese then keep reading!

My best fiends from California, Noah, and I all decided to take a road trip up the west coast. Noah and I flew out to Los Angeles, California and our best friends picked us up. We started the trip out in Orange County and hit up all of our favorite spots. We went down to Encinitas and had burritos on the beach with some friends of ours. We drove back up to LA + began our week long road trip. We went from San Diego to Los Angeles, to Sacramento, to Santa Barbara, to San Fransisco.

It was a March 25, 2016 and it was the last day of our trip. We saw the San Francisco bridge, did some shopping, went to about 50 coffee shops, and stopped at all the sights. It was around 4 o'clock and we all checked into our hotel. Justeleen, Delanie, and I got ready for dinner. (This is what I thought we were doing) Justeleen encouraged me to wear a dress and put makeup on, I now know why.... lol

In my head we were going to take pictures at sunset at this really cool spot the boys knew about and then we were all going to a nice dinner since it was our last night together. Considering we live across the country from each other, a nice dinner was not out of the norm.

We got ready and drove over to the spot where it would all go down, Sutro Baths. (The Sutro Baths were opened to the public in 1896 as the world's largest indoor swimming pool establishment. The baths were built on the western side of San Francisco) Now they are completely deserted and the waves crash all along what is left of them. Its a beautiful part of the coast to catch an amazing sunset. That was Noah exact plan.

He timed it perfectly, we arrived right around sundown and oh my goodness was it beautiful. It felt like another country, like I was on the edge of the earth. Delanie and Roman are both photographers so we went out to the edge of the cliff to take a picture. When I turned around to pose for the photo, our friends were gone. They were like 50 feet away from us. I looked at Noah super confused and he started smiling. He said "What do you think about us?" I said "What do you mean" He said "Do you want to be friends or more than friends." These are the same exact lines we recited to each other 6 years prior when we started dating. I obviously wanted to be more than friends. After a few more minutes of some loving words from my cutie, he got down on one knee.

Shaking + freezing from the cool California breeze coming off the Pacific Ocean. I said YES.Pretty sure I whispered it because I really had no words. We went off by ourselves for a little bit and talked, I just kept smiling and thinking to myself, this isn't real. We met back up with our friends and I got to share the moment with some of the most special people in my life.

My friends took some amazing photos of the entire thing, and I even got a Polaroid of the very moment. They were all in on it and kept it a complete secret.

Side note:Noah and I never went and looked at rings. So I literally had no idea it was coming. We had been dating for almost 6 years at that point but I figured we would talk about it first. Thats not the way he rolls, but I LOVE the spontaneousness of it all.

My ring:Obviously everyone always wants to see the ring. My ring is so special and better than anything I could have ever picked out on my own because its an heirloom. It first belonged to Noah's grandpa and it was the exact ring he used to propose to Noah's grandma about 50 years ago. I couldn't stop staring at the vintage beauty. I am in love with it. He had it cleaned and adjusted and it was glowing. It couldn't have been more perfect.
